I have been in the ministry since 1986. My experiences include many facets of ministry. I was the pastor of a church for eighteen years. I now spend much of my time helping other ministries train their workers and leaders.
I do not believe that most ministers know what awaits them once they answer the divine call. When God commissioned us into ministry He did not call us into failure. I have a desire to help other ministers and/or leaders fulfill their call successfully in spite of the challenges that are inevitable.
Reflections of a Trail Blazer is an ongoing journal as well as a resource for those who are in ministry and for those who are thinking about it. When I first entered ministry I did not have the kind of relationships to strengthen or encourage me in the ministry. I literally went by sheer grit.I held on to the knowledge that God had called me to do what I was doing. Without that vision constantly before me I would not have survived.
While this did bring me through I do not believe it was God’s best for me. I should have been able to learn from others who had gone before me. My desire, now, is to help others to move beyond where I have gone and arrive in a healthy state of mind, body and spirit.
